Frequently Asked Roof Coating Questions
Silicone is unlike any other material when it comes to waterproofing and water repellency. Silicone is very effective when it comes to protecting a residential or commercial roof from water damage. However, there are some drawbacks to using 100% silicone and one of these main drawbacks is that 100% silicone roof coating is difficult to repair due to the fact it is difficult for anything else to adhere to the silicone in case of future modifications or repairs. A siliconized roof coating is preferable in this scenario as it ensures many of the benefits of silicone with fewer drawbacks.
Everlast Coatings carry siliconized products including Product 6000 S and Product 353. These products are simpler to repair and can be done with other elastomeric materials that contain 10% silicone or less. Additionally, 100% silicone is much more expensive than siliconized products, up to twice as much in cost. Siliconized coatings are effective and easier to work with along with being more cost efficient.
